Our scheduled Holidays are New Year’s Day, M.L. King Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.  If your pick up day falls on a holiday, your service will be delayed one day and all service days thereafter will be delayed one day for that week.  If the Holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, service will not be affected.

Kirby Sanitation offers residential services in most of the Boiling Springs, Duncan, Easley, Greer, Inman, Lyman, Powdersville, Simpsonville, Taylors, and Wellford areas. Trucks start running routes as early as 4 a.m.  It is your responsibility to make sure your cart is out for collection when the truck comes by.  We ask that all customers put their cart out for pick up the night before your service day to ensure that you receive service.  Collection times are also subject to change as we have to adjust routes to keep our service as efficient as possible.

Please place your trash cart within 3 feet of the road with the wheels on the cart facing away from the street. Please leave at least 3 feet away from other carts, recycling bins, mailboxes, low hanging trees or shrubs, parked cars, and utility poles. DO NOT place items that could possibly be considered trash by our team within 20 feet of the trash cart. Kirby Sanitation will pick up trash that is not in the cart and will NOT be responsible for items that are left within 20 feet of the trash can and collected as garbage even if they are not intended as garbage.

We will NOT accept electronic waste (computers, TVs, printers or monitors, etc.). NO liquids of any kind, oil, cooking oils and paint, tires, batteries, propane tanks or pressurized tanks of any kind. Kirby Sanitation is not responsible for any oil, paint or liquids placed in the trash or possible spills, leaks or staining on roadways or paved surfaces on which we have access.  If you need one of these prohibited items picked up we can schedule a special pick up for an additional charge and have the item recycled or environmentally disposed of.

Kirby Sanitation will always offer to pick up additional garbage the week following a missed pick up.  Please call our customer service team so we can make arrangements and note the account for the driver the following week.  If you can not wait until your next scheduled collection day you may pay an additional charge for us to make a return trip to collect your garbage or recycling.

Residential trash accounts that are not enrolled in autopay are billed quarterly (every 3 months).  If you enroll your Kirby account in our AUTOPAY service we have a budget-friendly monthly billing option.  All residential services are billed in advance prior to service. Please call our customer service team if you would like to enroll in monthly autopay!

All invoices are due within 30 days of the invoice date. We accept cash, check, money order, credit card and debit card. Statement will be mailed to accounts not paid at 30 days and 60 days after the invoice date. Service will be suspended on all accounts that are past due and a $10.00 late fee will be added to the account.

Yes, Kirby Sanitation offers yard waste collection to our customers.  We offer a cart for yard waste with weekly collection or we can do a bulk yard waste pick up.  Please call the office to schedule a bulk yard waste collection or to order a yard waste cart.  All yard waste must be securely bagged and limbs must be bundled.  Limbs must be cut into 18-inch lengths and have 2-inch or smaller diameter.  Bundles must not exceed 35 pounds.  Kirby Sanitation is not responsible for busted bags or the mess they make, so please do not over load your yard waste bags.

Yes, Kirby Sanitation also offers large item collection to its customers (washers, dryers, couches, etc.).  However, these items cannot be picked up on route and an additional trip is required, so please call the office if you need to schedule a pickup.  The minimum charge for any large item collection in $50.00.

Kirby Sanitation bases its prices on the amount of waste that will fit into a 96-gallon trash cart and allows two trash 13-gallon bags outside of the trash cart.  Unfortunately, we will not accept additional trash beyond the 2 bags.  If you have a large item that is too large to fit in a trash cart you will need to schedule a large item or bulk pick up with our office for an additional charge.  If you have additional trash on a regular basis you can contact our office to order an additional cart(s) for a discounted rate.  Please, do not over load your cart (250 lb. maximum) as this will result in damage to the cart.

We also request that all large boxes be cut down or broken down and placed in the trash cart.

Please contact the office if you cart is broken and needs repair.  As long as your cart is not damaged from personal neglect, and your cart fails or breaks due to normal wear and tear there is no charge for any repair or replacement if it cannot be repaired. 

You are supplied with a clean trash cart when you start with our service and it is your responsibility to maintain its cleanliness.  When your service is terminated please return your cart in the same condition you received it. The best way to clean your cart is to rinse it out with a hose. Soap and bleach can be used as cleaning and deodorizing agents.

Yes, Kirby Sanitation does offer a recycling service in selected areas. Kirby Sanitation is recycling #1 and #2 plastic, paper, cardboard, and aluminum. Kirby Sanitation will supply you with a 96-gallon recycling cart and pick up your recycling 2 times a month. Click here for Recycling Schedule. Please contact our office to see if recycling is offered in your area.

No, please use the cart you are provided by Kirby Sanitation for collection.  Our carts are specifically designed to work with our trucks and equipment.  This helps us keep our employees safe and helps to prevent injuries.  If you have additional trash that will not fit in the trash cart you are provided please contact our office to arrange to get an additional cart(s).  Additional carts are available at a discounted rate!

Yes, you may cancel your service with Kirby Sanitation anytime.  Most of our services are offered without contracts and can be canceled by calling our offices.  If you do have a service contract (mainly commercial accounts) you can still cancel your services with Kirby Sanitation but there will be an early termination fee.

Yes, if you have had your service for at least 3 months and cancel your service you may request the remaining WHOLE months of your prepaid service be refunded.  We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months and do not offer any refund during the first three months of your service.  We also do not charge delivery or setup fees for new customers.

Kirby Sanitation can collect your moving boxes and packing paper.  If you can break down your moving boxes and place them in your cart we can pick them up at no charge.  If you have more moving boxes than you can fit into your cart please call our Customer Service team at 864-848-1968 and we can schedule a bulk pick for you for a small charge.

It is possible.  At Kirby Sanitation we try our best to keep rates consistent and fair. In the event, there is a rate increase you will ALWAYS be notified in advance! Not just surprised when the bill comes.
